This conversation club is designed for learners working towards Functional Skills English Level 1 and Level 2 who want to develop their discussion and presentation skills. Through interactive speaking and listening activities, learners will explore a range of current and everyday topics while practising the communication skills required for the Functional Skills Speaking, Listening and Communicating component.

Learners will practise identifying key ideas in explanations and presentations, asking relevant and detailed questions, expressing opinions with supporting evidence, and responding effectively in discussions. The course aims to build confidence in speaking English while developing effective communication strategies for both informal conversations and more structured discussions or presentations.

This course offers a gentle introduction to reading and writing for adults who are beginning their literacy journey. It focuses on building confidence through simple, practical activities that support everyday communication. Learners are encouraged to develop their skills at their own pace in a friendly and encouraging environment.

This short course is designed for adults who are working at Entry Level 3 English and want to develop the skills needed to progress towards Functional Skills English Level 1.

You will strengthen your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills while becoming familiar with Level 1 expectations. The course focuses on practical English for everyday life, helping you communicate more effectively at work, in education and within your community.

This short, non-accredited course is designed for adults who have achieved Functional Skills English Level 1 and would like additional support before progressing to Level 2. Over 7 weeks, learners will strengthen their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills while becoming familiar with the increased demands of Level 2 study. Through practical activities based on real-life situations, learners will build confidence, improve communication skills, and develop the knowledge needed for further study, employment, and everyday life.
