Who are these courses for?
Due to the specialist nature of our professional development programme, these CPD courses are only open to trained counsellors, counselling trainees studying at Level 4 or above, or employed helping professional such as nurses and healthcare workers.

Choosing your course
Courses at City Lit are designed to facilitate part-time adult learning. Courses run daytimes, evenings and weekends, at our main site on Keeley Street in Covent Garden, which is easily accessible via the tube or bus.

Our tutors are qualified and practising psychotherapists and counsellors with extensive experience, and members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. So, in addition to providing you with top quality counselling tuition, you can also benefit from their working knowledge of counselling practise.

Working with Eating Disorders and Self-Harm in Private Practice

Location on this date: OnlineThis course is designed for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists already in private practice or planning to set up a practice in order to help practitioners identify clients who may be at risk and to develop specialist skills and knowledge. The course will cover theoretical and medical approaches to understanding possible causes and methods of treatment for these problems as well as providing an integrative structure for working safely and effectively with eating disorders and self-harm in private practice. Students will also learn to distinguish between clients at serious risk who need to be referred on for care with a specialist multidisciplinary team and those who can benefit from individual or group work in private practice.
