Specialist Teacher Training Courses in London

We offer initial teacher training for teachers and aspiring teachers/trainers of adults, with part-time, flexible courses leading to national qualifications.

We also train and develop people who are already working, or who want to work in a range of organisations including adult education, community and further education, the voluntary sector, work-based learning and the public and private sector. This includes training in coaching and management.

    The City & Guilds (6502) Award in Education and Training (blended) is an initial teacher training course ideal for anyone who teaches, or has some experience of teaching, adult learners in the Further Education and Adult and Community Learning sectors. We may also accept you if you have not taught before but have related work or voluntary experience. You will be asked to attend 3 weekends: 25 and 26 Sep, 6 and 7 Nov, 4 and 5 Dec. Please note this course starts online but we will be asking you to attend at college for the final 3 sessions of the course.

  2. Train the Trainer (Spring)

    'Train the Trainer' is a practical 2 day course designed to help you gain ideas for effective facilitation and managing groups. It is suitable if you are thinking of becoming a trainer and want to gain confidence in planning and facilitating the training, or if you are an experienced trainer and want to refresh your practice. You will leave with some tools and techniques that will ensure your training is engaging and productive for your learners. On day 2 you will have the opportunity to deliver a short micro-training or interactive presentation.

    The City & Guilds (6502) Award in Education and Training is an initial teacher training course ideal for anyone who teaches adults - or has experience of teaching adults - in Further Education or Adult and Community Learning. We may also consider you if you do not have teaching experience, but are qualified in your subject and have worked in a related field. The course will be mostly onlnine, with two sessions at City Lit towards the end of the course (if government guidance permits).
