  3. Jazz harmony, ear training and ensembles: advanced

  7. Transcribe jazz solos

    A study and sharing group for experienced jazz players with a good working knowledge of harmony and experience of improvising. We will focus on in-depth listening and transcription of recorded examples by well known jazz musicians. Online sessions will include demonstration and performance opportunities.   8. World music: Klezmer

    Learn to play traditional Eastern European Jewish wedding tunes that have inspired so many musicians and listeners. We will play Bulgars, Horas and Freylekhs, with a little Yiddish thrown in. The tunes can be complex, so this course will suit intermediate and advanced instrumentalists.Learning will be in the aural tradition, though music will be provided.
