Music history’s Great Works

Boost your listening pleasure with a deep dive into a great work. Enjoy short lectures, listening notes and plenty of good discussion on our programme of great works, great albums and great artists.

For instance, you may have heard that Thomas Tallis wrote a work for 40 individual voices in the 16thcentury. It’s often performed today in concerts and in many popular online videos, but who did he originally write it for and where might they have performed it? (Great works: Tallis’s Spem in alium)

Our Great Works series is an ongoing selection of short seminars hosted by our experienced and passionate music history teachers who present their favourite pieces. Join them to study and discuss a famous work, artist or album and enhance your own listening pleasure.

If you've enjoyed a Great works course this year then why not join us for a longer course in our music history programme.
