Access, Inclusion and Support hub
On the Access, Inclusion and Support hub you will find information sheets about working with students with a range of support needs and about City Lit’s inclusive ethos. You will also find information about how to refer students, how to embark on conversations with learners about their support needs and contact details for the support team.
Tutor Development Programme
The Tutor Development team offers free training to City Lit tutors on an ongoing basis. The topics are identified by tutors themselves.
Our training programmes include workshops that aim to support you with delivering courses online, as well as with maintaining your wellbeing. Training is for all City Lit staff, whether you are teaching at the moment or not. Our current programme runs until the end of October. Our Tutor Support & Development Bulletin has further information. (Please note you will need to log into your City Lit Office 365 account to access this.)
In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions about the training programme, please email: Tutor.Development@citylit.ac.uk
The Tutor Toolkit
This is an online training module designed for you if you are new to teaching, or you are an experienced tutor or would just like to update yourself about aspects of learning and teaching.
It covers the basics of teaching and has 9 short units, with activities and/or quizzes to complete throughout. It should take 3 – 4 hours to complete if you work through the whole course (though we would advise you to do it in sections).
Please click here to go to the Tutor Toolkit to find out more or to start the module.
The course is self assessed. However, if you would like a certificate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We will ask you to submit a lesson plan and meet with you to discuss your session.
