This two-day course was intensive. You need a good grasp of working with computers and knowledge of the internet to get the most out of it. The tutor was very thorough and patient with us, and very interactive. It helped that we were a small class.

We learned how to prepare the text in Word without any formatting (news to me) then format with Styles and add images. Next upload to Calibre to format specifically for Kindle and other online publishers. Next validate our manuscript prior to uploading it to Amazon Kindle, so it is not rejected. All the steps were explained, and you need to follow all the steps else it won't work. We practised doing it in stages. This was a thorough grounding for doing it yourself afterwards, for real. Such practical tuition saves a lot of time and frustration trying to do it on your own, even if there are many good how-to videos online these days. We also covered research and marketing. A complete entry level course to enable you to put your book online and promote it.

Our tutor was good at explaining things clearly and happy to answer questions, but kept us moving along just the same. The course notes were given ahead (rather than afterwards as some tutors do), great to write notes on as we went along.
