What is the course about?

This course is a revision and consolidation course to enable you to join a level 4 or 5 course. You will refresh your existing Spanish, build your confidence back and revisit elements of language and grammar that you need to revise.

What will we cover?

In this course, you will work on authentic materials related to Current affairs, society, culture and culture and you will review complex grammar structures that you will have learned in the past but need to remember and practice. The emphasis will be on speaking and listening, but some written homework will be given as well.

The contents of the course will be based on the needs of the group. The first session will consist of a diagnostic session, where the tutor will informally assess the group's level through conversation, reading and listening comprehension, which will then shape the programme of the subsequent sessions.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- express yourself more accurately
- read newspaper articles and short stories with confidence
- understand authentic audio/video materials with more confidence
- take part in discussions and debates on various aspects of Spanish-speaking culture

Please note that the learning outcomes may vary depending on the general progress made by the students.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
