What is the course about?
LinkedIn focuses on your professional world, allowing you to build a network of professionals and enjoy the countless perks that can come with that. This course will act as an introduction to LinkedIn for professional networking. You’ll learn how to set yourself up on LinkedIn, network with peers, stay up to date with your industry, job search, meet people etc.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.
What will we cover?
An overview of LinkedIn.
• Explain different types of accounts.
• Explore LinkedIn’s key features and tools.
• How to grow your LinkedIn network.
• Finding relevant people and organisations to connect with.
• How to request and send recommendation.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Use the main features of LinkedIn.
• Identify ways to start building your network.
• Search for new potential contacts.
• Join LinkedIn groups as a means to connect with others.
• Access available Help and support features.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
No prior knowledge of LinkedIn is required, but you should have general computing and internet skills. You should be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor in English.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course consists of practical activities, discussions and demonstrations. One to one guidance and support will be given throughout.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
You should have access to your existing social media account(s) and remember to remember to bring with you the log in details. If you don’t have existing account(s) you will need to bring a valid email address and it’s password to sign up for a new account. This will help you to practice the course content during the class and gain valuable hands-on experience.
