Q: What courses have you studied at City Lit?

It all started with beginners Acting, moving through to intermediate, scene work, Improve, Audition Ready, (acting for camera) and Meisner. Most recently Clear Speech.

Q: What made you decide to study at City Lit?

I bumped into an old friend, someone from the past, who suggested studying at City Lit to me. At that time I was working as a teacher and I could only study in the evenings.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit more about your experiences at City Lit and how it has influenced your life/career?

I have fond memories of the people I trained with and my teachers. In the early days it was Mark Phoenix and Vernon Thompson. They were amazing and really help to build my foundations. Brian Carter was my first ever teacher and he really gave me the encouragement to peruse my passion.

Q: What did you enjoy most about studying at City Lit?

Everything including the old canteen! It really is a great learning space, friendly and inviting. A great location too.

Q: Have you got any advice for people who might be interested in studying the same subjects?

Keep going; keep training all aspects of Acting, including Movement and Voice. Find the right course for you that fit’s in with your life at the time. This will ensure that you can stay committed and get the most out of it.

Q: What are your currently doing and what are your future plans?

Over the last year I undertook a range of courses at City Lit. I had decided that I wanted to apply to Drama school and train full time.  They really did help in preparing me not only for the audition process but provided me with great training for the Acting Industry.
