Receiving recognition at the first Adult Learning Awards!
Last night saw the first Mayor of London Adult Learning Awards ceremony take place at London's new City Hall in Royal Victoria, and we were thrilled to be part of the incredibly important event.
Hosted by London’s Night Tsar Amy Lamé, with an introduction by Mayor Sadiq Khan, the Awards recognise inspirational Londoners that have overcome barriers and excelled at work and in life through adult education. Employers and providers were also recognised for their contribution to adult learning in the capital.
2022 Award Winners
Over 200 nominations were received across nine categories, and we are delighted to have been recognised in three areas:
-
Learning for Personal Progression – won by one of our students, Fatima Zahra.
-
Inclusive Provider of Adult Education – won for our Centre for Learning Disabilities Education
-
Peter Brown, one of our British Sign Language (BSL) tutors, was awarded Highly Commended for Inspirational Tutor.
Mayor's mission
The awards ceremony was an amazing celebration of adult learning in London, and we had the opportunity to meet the Mayor of London, who is committed to raise awareness of adult learning and help Londoners gain the skills they need for life and work.
