What is the course about?
This course of collage and mixed media techniques will initially introduce you to artists that work in this medium. You will then explore and experiment with different techniques of drawing, painting and mono-printing, to create rich paper surfaces for your collage. Cut and re-joined, these will then become a series of exciting and inventive collages.
What will we cover?
We will look at ideas around surface, scale, paper edges and paper qualities within Collage, and the importance of the quality of the initial paper surfaces. You will then be working with drawing, painting and mono-printing techniques on papers, that incorporate contrasts of lines and tone, to create rich and varied collages.
