What is the course about?
To improve spoken communication in the work place, including video calling and conferencing.
To strengthen interpersonal skills in the work place.
To build confidence and to develop personal effectiveness when speaking in public.
What will we cover?
Developing the skills of rapport through body language and voice.
Speaking up for yourself; presenting yourself with confidence.
Developing a presence as a communicator; engaging your listeners.
Influencing; building trust.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Build a positive relationship through rapport.
Be aware of how body language enhances self-presentation.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Students whose first language is not English need to be fully competent in speaking and listening, reading and writing in English.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is in the college and will comprise talks, discussion, simulations, role play and observation, with opportunity for group feedback and evaluation.
