What will we cover?
Each class will focus on a certain topic such as life in the UK, different cultures & nationalities, work, technology, health, and enjoyment. You will focus on:
· developing your everyday conversations including asking and answering questions
· developing your vocabulary on a range of topics and spelling words correctly
· accessing different audio mediums such as radio, YouTube, podcasts to listen for gist and detail
· reading everyday English such as short news stories, emails, articles and diaries
· writing short emails, letters and messages – formal and informal
· writing descriptions of people, places and objects
· using different tenses accurately including the present & past simple, present & continuous, present perfect & future forms
What will I achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to...
· Read English with more confidence
· Use your English in everyday life such as at work, college and or in your free time
· Write better using a good range of sentences, tenses, vocabulary and descriptions

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is an Entry 3 - Level 1, pre-intermediate course (B1-B2). This course is ideal for you if you can ask and answer questions on personal information, routines, likes and dislikes, use present simple and past simple, and write short paragraphs. Now you want to improve talking and writing about more complicated topics.
You must come to class regularly and complete all assessments.
Important: Please do not travel or take holidays during the course unless it is an emergency.
There are no exams. This course is to help you improve your English and communication skills.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment with an emphasis on your discovering how to do and complete tasks, with guidance from the tutor. You will learn in a step-by-step manner so you can complete challenging tasks in enjoyable and relaxing ways. You will work in pairs and small groups. Your tutor will work with you individually, so you know how to improve and how to work in a way that improves your learning. You will need to do work outside the classroom and use Google Classroom to help you.
You will need to do homework regularly or every week and use Google Classroom.

This course has three parts, and you will normally complete each part over three terms. After completing all three parts, you can move to ESOL Level 1.
You can continue with this course for the next term(s) or go onto do an accredited exam course in ESOL Entry 3 or ESOL Level 1.
