Do you want to prepare for Functional Skills Level 2 maths? Do you need to improve your maths to become more confident in problem-solving, analysing and making decisions at work and in your personal life? This course will help you with all of the above and make maths come alive. You will see how mathematics is everywhere and you will develop the maths you need to participate, make progress and express yourself in today's society. You will work on tasks which require you to use whole numbers and decimals, fractions and percentages and recognise the relationships between them. You will work on solving problem involving time, money and measurements, as well learn how to measure confidently and convert between units of measurement. You will be able to state properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and be better able to interpret, discuss and comment on the graphs, charts and tables you see in newspapers, on the internet and at work.

What would it feel like for someone else to stand inside your shoes so that just for that one moment they could be you? This course will help them find out because you will learn how to tell a story about something that happened to you. You will work on work on creating and telling your own digital story. You will turn that event into a story which you will then record digitally. You will then invite other people to wear your shoes (literally), walk and listen to your story. This will be part of a small exhibition within City Lit! This is a unique opportunity to develop your English – your speaking, listening, vocabulary, range of expression, grammar and overall communication skill - as well as learn how to create an engaging and impacting story. The course is building on our award-winning ESOL plus arts project with the GLA.

Are you working in an office and need to improve your communication skills? Would you like to become an administrator but feel your written English is holding you back? This course will help you become a confident, flexible and successful communicator in writing, in person, on the phone and online. You will work on using the right language for written documents and for when speaking to colleagues, managers, customers, in meetings and on the phone.
