What is the course about?

In each lesson, we will be travelling to interesting cities, towns and regions in order to explore well known and lesser known places in Germany.

What will we cover?

From specific buildings to urban ensembles, from cultural regions to beautiful landscapes – this course takes you on a fascinating journey through Germany.

By the end of this course you should be able to...


- Increase your vocabulary and improve your confidence by speaking about specific areas in Germany
- Gain a wider understanding of important places and regions in Germany from a geographical, historical or cultural point of view.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

B2/C1: For students with a very good knowledge of German in all areas and a fairly wide range of vocabulary.

You will also need to be able to respond to simple instructions and explanations, as well as read course documents, in English. You will need to be at ease with the use of numbers for daily activities (e.g. using money, telling the time, using the 24 hour clock, reading timetables). It would also be helpful if you had some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The class is taught entirely in German.There will be group and pair work. You will be required to do some reading in preparation for each session.

Materials are provided by the tutor online in Google classroom.
