What is the course about?

This workshop is open to everyone! In this taster session, you will learn how to perform a simple Gua Sha facial massage on friends, family, or even yourself. This technique can help release tension from a tight jaw, promotes blood circulation, reduces puffiness, and enhances skin tone. - Perform Gua Sha facial massage sequence.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Introductory level - no previous knowledge required.

Please note that the following conditions may prevent you from receiving a Gua Sha facial massage treatment:
• Hypersensitive Skin: Use gentle pressure and a shorter routine.
• Active Acne or Skin Infections: Avoid areas with active acne, open wounds, or infections.
• Recent Botox or Dermal Fillers: Avoid treated areas for at least 6 weeks post-procedure.
• Severe Skin Conditions: Conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or severe rosacea should be avoided.
• Inflamed or Irritated Skin: Avoid areas with inflammation or irritation.
• Blood Clotting Disorders: Participants with blood clotting disorders or on blood-thinning medications should avoid Gua Sha.
• Recent Surgery or Injury: Avoid areas that have undergone recent surgery or are still healing.
• Pregnancy: Consult with a healthcare provider before participating.
• Known Allergies: Ensure that any oils or products used are suitable for your skin.
If you have any of these conditions or concerns, please inform the instructor before the workshop begins.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This course is highly interactive, offering plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience and practice.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no additional costs, and you don't need to bring anything. Everything you need will be provided during the workshop.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

You may decide to progress to other introductory massage courses, such as Indian Head massage, Facial Reflexology or Natural Face Lift. There are also accredited courses for those thinking of practising professional, like the Level 2 award in facial massage and skincare.

I am very passionate about teaching and sharing the transformative power of massage and bodywork. I have been a complementary therapist for over 2o years and my journey has taken me from working in 5-star spas and exclusive hotels to running my own private therapy clinic and providing mobile therapy to private clients. I practice a variety of body and face treatments including advance deep tissue and myofascial release, pregnancy massage, hot stones, dynamic stretching, craniosacral therapy and I am always learning (this is the beauty of it!). This diverse experience allows me to bring real-world insights and practical knowledge to my teaching. I enjoy being with nature and practicing Tai Chi , which helps me stay balanced and calm. I am looking forward to working together to achieve your goals and make a difference in the world through the power of touch.
