Continue your study of Hungarian in this year 2 course, intended for learners who have studied Hungarian for about a year and a half. It is suitable for people who would like to use the language in Hungary or want to understand and communicate with Hungarian people. All four skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) are practised but in class the emphasis is on oral communication. The book provides very clear grammar with lots of exercises.

What is the course about?

It is suitable for people who would like to use the language in Hungary or want to understand and communicate with Hungarian people. All four skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing) are practised but in class the emphasis is on oral communication. The book provides very clear grammar with lots of exercises.

During the course there will be lots of opportunities to do project work according to the students’ interest in case students have extra time.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is intended for learners who have completed Hungarian 2: Module 2, or who have a similar level (roughly a year and a half of study).

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Material is based on the textbook of “MagyarOK1” and “Reader to the MagyarOK A1 textbook” that can be purchased on www.magyar-ok.hu. The costs will be about £20.
The teacher provides the class with lots of supplementary material, authentic texts, videos, audio materials. The textbook goes together with online material abundant in useful additional materials such as, the answer keys to exercises, vocabulary, and a collection for useful expressions for each unit, all the audio recordings, a summary of a booklet with grammar explanation.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Speak to your tutor about possible progression routes. We might open Hungarian 3 if there is enough demand.
