What is the course about?

In conversation with . . . is a collection of scheduled talks in collaboration with artists, designer/makers and contemporary creatives. Over the year, each guest speaker will present exciting visual lectures on various themes, points of discussion and debate around contemporary practice, as well as providing an insight in the creative industries.

Join us for an opportunity to hear directly from national and international recognised and renowned creatives. This event is open to all (aged 19+) who has an interest in discovering more about the creative industries, routes, pathways and who wishes to gain a truly unique perspective into the roles, themes and practice of selected professionals.

What will we cover?

Jacqui Ramrayka is founder of Studio Archway ceramics, with a love hand built ceramics and the forms and ideas surrounding the vessel. Inspiration comes from both natural and urban landscapes as well as found objects that can suggest a fragment story. Ramrayka is a professional member of multiple creative bodies and organisations including Crafts Council Makers Directory, Cratf Pooters association and the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
Exhibitions have spanned across London, Liverpool, Glasgow and more.
Jacqui’s work is based around exploring ways to articulate notions emerging from reflections centred on the themes of memory, grief, and exploring Indo-Caribbean diasporic identity, which, particularly since the Windrush era, has morphed into a hybrid, crafted by different cultures.
