Roberto Minardi

Roberto holds a Diploma in Teaching Foreign Languages, a CELTA qualification and a Joint BA in French Studies & Spanish and Latin American Studies. He has taught languages to students from diverse educational backgrounds, and in different countries, for over twenty years. He strongly believes in helping students to build a positive attitude towards using the target language as much as possible, and to overcome the inhibition adults often experience. Roberto received an ‘Inspiring Tutor Award’ in 2024 from City Lit. As his students tell us: “Roberto’s sharp but gentle wit runs through all his teaching and his love of language and wordplay shines through in every lesson”. Roberto has published several volumes of poetry in Italian, and often travels to Italy to give readings around the country. His enthusiasm for literature is reflected in the literature courses he teaches for City Lit. In addition to his interest in languages and literature, he has done extensive personal study in areas such as Italian Baroque, 19th/20th century Italian art and history, and enjoys sharing his knowledge in class.
