On this course you will further increase your confidence by consolidating previous knowledge and practising a wider variety of everyday life situations. As the lessons are longer, the pace is gentler and you'll have more of a chance to repeat the material covered.

Based on chapters 5 and 6 of Nuovo Espresso 1 (libro studente, published by Alma Edizioni - Italian version).
Topics: hotels, describing where you live, shopping Grammar: direct pronouns; reflexive verbs; adverbs of frequency; the comparative, past tense.
What will I achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to...
-use c'e' and ci sono (there is/there are) with more confidence -describe places -communicate effectively in a hotel -use a wider range of verbs correctly.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Stage 1 module 3 - You should have completed Italian Stage 1 modules 1 and 2 courses or have studied Italian for two terms (about 40 teaching hours).

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
We also offer language support sessions for beginner students giving them an opportunity to dispel doubts about the language. These are delivered entirely in English and are ideal for those aspects of the language or language learning that beginner students tend to find challenging. Places can only be booked once you have started the course. For more information, please ask your tutor.
