What is the course about?

You will learn to communicate more fully and fluently in a wider range of everyday situations and conversations. You will also consolidate grammar points including different verb forms.

What will we cover?

Talk about where you live, where you work and who your acquaintances are
Introduce someone, giving details about where they live or work or what their interests are
Making comparisons / expressing the comparative degree
Making comparisons / expression the superlative degree

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

-Use negative requests / naide kumadai
-Use present progress & habitual action / teimasu
-Describe current states / teimasu
Talk about skills / jyoozudesu, dekimasu, wakarimasu
Compare / — no hooga, —- yori —- desu
Use superlatives / — no nakade —-ga ichiban —- desu
Understand various adjectives
Understand Kanji for everyday use, on leaflet, menus or advertisements
Understand Japanese current affairs or culture
Understand colloquial expressions.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You should have studied for at least 2 years and have a good working knowledge of Hiragana and Katakana.
It is also essential that you have some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, conjugations.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Based on tutor's own material. The tutor might recommend an accompanying book.
