What is the course about?

In this course, you will be able to increase your fluency in understanding and speaking Japanese, consolidate the basic structure of the language and also extend your knowledge by working on more complex grammatical structure and functions. You will acquire a greater understanding of Japanese culture and customs.

What will we cover?

Topics: Asking for and giving explanations in a variety of context, giving your opinion, pass on a message to someone, use casual expressions in various occasions

Language points: Using direct and indirect quotation, explanation with —- ndesu, use —- to itteita, opinion with —- to omou, develop your knowledge of Kanji

Understand a variety of Kanji and compound words related to everyday life

All grammar patterns are related to Japanese Language Proficiency Test N5 ( JLPT N5 ).

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Have completed Japanese 3 lower: module 2 or have studied recently for 4 years and be fluent in Hiragana and Katakana with some basic knowledge of Kanji.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
