What is the course about?
Korean 2 is for learners who have studied Korean for a year (or have the equivalent level), and will focus on improving speaking and listening skills while still enabling you to work on your reading and writing in Korean.
What will we cover?
Topics: Talking about plans and intentions, talking about time, describing people and objects.
Grammar: Structures (I would like to…/I want to…), honorific verbs, future tense, adjectives.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Talk about what you want to do.
- Express units of time and distance.
- Use the future tense.
- Describe yourself/other people/objects using adjectives.
- Use honorifics when addressing people older than you.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Suitable for students who have attended Korean beginners or equivalent (1 year of learning).
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
