The course focuses on practical maths skills that can be used in daily life, work, and further learning.

  • Telling the time and reading timetables

  • Measuring length, weight, and capacity

  • Solving simple real-life maths problems

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an entry-level course, suitable for beginners or those who want to refresh their basic maths skills. You do not need any formal qualifications. A willingness to learn and take part is all that is required.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will learn in a supportive and friendly environment with a focus on practical activities. Teaching methods include group work, individual exercises, discussions, and real-life problem-solving tasks.

You may be given optional practice activities to complete outside of class to help reinforce your learning, but there is no formal homework requirement.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no additional costs for this course. All learning materials will be provided by the tutor. You may wish to bring a notebook and pen for your own notes.
