What is the course about?

This is a course for students with an ability and interest in expanding their art skills. In the art studio you will explore ways to combine and collage using a range of materials including fabric, photocopies, and found materials.

What will we cover?

Basic drawing and painting techniques
Collage and mixed media techniques; cutting, tearing, combine collage, painting and drawing
Mixed Media Group project on a selected theme.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Use a wide range of art materials
Combine and collage fabric, photocopies, printed sources and found materials into compositions on paper
Choose subject matter from everyday life and the internet
Contribute to a mixed media group project
Contribute your work to centre Instagram account
Give and receive feedback on your work and other students.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is for students with learning disabilities who have an ability in art and interest in expanding their art skills.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Group discussion
Group project
1-1 tuition
Tutor demonstration of materials and techniques.

No other costs. You will be asked to bring collage materials from home into class.
