What is the course about?

This course is packed with useful, practical information on how you can improve your diet to improve your mood, concentration and energy levels. Find out what foods and drinks are good to eat and what to avoid; discover which specific nutrients are helpful for calming anxiety and improving mood. Learn how food can influence your sleeping patterns.

What will we cover?

This three hour course will cover how food influences mental health and feelings of wellbeing. Find out how blood sugar levels play a key role in energy levels and concentration; learn about specific nutrients needed for a calm and relaxed mind. Discover how what you eat and drink influences how well you sleep and much more.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

•Devise simple, tasty meals and snacks that will have a positive influence on mood and energy levels
• List foods and drinks that are likely to promote anxiety, tension and energy slumps
• Name three key micronutrients needed for good mood and energy levels and list

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The tutor will use a range of teaching methods on this friendly, relaxed course. There will be some PowerPoint presentations and lectures, class discussion, pair work and quizzes. Handouts will be given which cover all the key points.
