What is the course about?

You will be introduced to multiple ways to combine a variety of printmaking techniques (e.g. silkscreen, monoprinting, laser cutting, etc.) and how to compliment your artistic practice.
You will be introduced to experimentation within printmaking practices and how other contemporary artists who
explore the notion of multimedia in their prints are pushing the pre-set rules of what printmaking is today.

What will we cover?

• Create experimental compositions with at least 3 different printmaking techniques over the course of 4 sessions.
• Expand your print practice by using different surfaces to print on
• Develop a different approach to what traditional printmaking may be perceived as today.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Combine multiple media into complimentary compositions
• Practice a variety of techniques to produce vivid prints in a 2d or 3d format.
• Learn techniques that nurture an environmentally conscious practice.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suited for absolute beginners to professional artists. No particular skills are required.
You should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English for both health and safety purposes and to
enable you to follow printmaking procedures.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Demonstrations and personal application of different aspects of the media will be offered as you advance in
knowledge and competence. You will take notes of all the procedures to then develop your own ideas and imagery.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The course fee covers basic materials such as inks, a standard quality paper and general communal workshop
sundries. Please bring sketches, photographs or other visual resources as a starting point to the first session.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
