Connecting a computer to the sound system
Recording and editing sounds with the computer
Packing up!
Having fun with everything!
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Understand how to connect simple sound making equipment.
Play with sound-making machines including your phone.
Share your sounds with others.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is a fun course for students with learning disabilities including those who have and haven’t worked with sound before. You do not need any skills but listening would be a useful skill to use and develop.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course will be taught through demonstration and hands on practical work. We will work together to create sounds through experimentation and improvisation, and we will capture the sounds we make in recordings which we can share. There may be some simple homework for fun.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
You do not need to bring anything but if you have a phone and would like to use it in the class, you will be encouraged to do so. There are no hidden costs but there may be hidden sounds!
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
