What is the course about?

The course aims to enable students to reinforce and consolidate the ability to communicate in Spanish in everyday situations. Ideal for students who have done 2 or 3 years of Spanish and have studied present and past tenses (A2 level) and are looking to practise more talking and listening skills.

What will we cover?

We will be revising and consolidating topics related to current affairs, Spanish society and culture, customs.

By the end of this course you should be able to...

You will be increase your vocabulary, consolidate grammar and gain fluency when talking through a good variety of communicative activities.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Students should have completed Spanish 2 lower or 2 upper have an equivalent knowledge of the language. How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The course is based on the tutor’s own resources.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

LBS22 or LBS08 Spanish 2: revision course in summer or Spanish 2 upper: module 1 (if you are currently doing Spanish 2 lower) or Spanish 3 lower: module 1 in September (if you are currently doing Spanish 2 upper).

Amaia Ibargüen

Amaia is a Spanish teacher from the Basque country in Spain. She grew up in Mondragón and studied in San Sebastián and Bilbao where she completed a teaching degree at university. She has always been interested in teaching and, as well as her work in adult education, she has experience teaching at universities and companies. Amaia has Qualified Teacher Status in England and has taught Spanish at all levels. She has a keen interest in exploring those areas of the language that her students find difficult. She takes great pleasure in seeing how her students progress in the language, in their motivation and dedication, and in the dialogue that takes place among adults in the context of the classroom.
