What is the course about?

The course will give you a flavour of an elementary Spanish class. It is ideal if you would like to study Spanish again. The emphasis will be on speaking Spanish.

What will we cover?

- talk a bit about yourself in Spanish
- talk about why you want to study Spanish with others
- talk about your past experiences of studying Spanish
- talk about your travel plans in relation to learning Spanish.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- start using Spanish again to converse with others
- have an idea of what an elementary Spanish class feels like
- decide whether you want to start studying again in January and whether this level is right for you.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is suitable if you have studied Spanish for 1-2 years recently.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The tutor will use their own materials.

Roberto Gallego

Roberto was born and grew up in Madrid. He decided to become a language teacher because he is passionate about his language and culture. He has a Post-graduate Diploma in Teaching Spanish from the University of Barcelona and a Certificate in Advanced Methodology moderated by the University of Cambridge. He is also a DELE examiner and a qualified teacher trainer. As well as teaching at City Lit, Roberto teaches at London universities and Spanish schools. He has been teaching adults at all levels for many years, which he finds motivating as they share their knowledge, experiences and points of view. When he is not teaching, he enjoys reading historical novels, gardening and cooking.
