What is the course about?

To develop and extend students knowledge of Spanish through further study of more complex grammatical structures.

What will we cover?

Development of the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
Grammar: superlative, use of subjunctive to express opinions, use of future perfect and conditional to express certainty.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- talk and give opinion about environment
- hypothesize and speculate about events
- be more confident in speaking Spanish
- express opinions and ideas by using a wider range of vocabulary
- extract specific information when listening to dialogues

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Stage 3 upper course (upper intermediate). This course is for students who have studied Spanish for about four years recently. How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Roberto Gallego

Roberto was born and grew up in Madrid. He decided to become a language teacher because he is passionate about his language and culture. He has a Post-graduate Diploma in Teaching Spanish from the University of Barcelona and a Certificate in Advanced Methodology moderated by the University of Cambridge. He is also a DELE examiner and a qualified teacher trainer. As well as teaching at City Lit, Roberto teaches at London universities and Spanish schools. He has been teaching adults at all levels for many years, which he finds motivating as they share their knowledge, experiences and points of view. When he is not teaching, he enjoys reading historical novels, gardening and cooking.
