What is the course about?

The course will give you a flavour of a Intermediate Spanish class. It is ideal if you would like to study Spanish again. The emphasis will be on speaking Spanish.

What will we cover?

- talk a bit about yourself in Spanish
- talk about why you want to study Spanish with others
- talk about your past experiences of studying Spanish
- talk about your plans in relation to learning Spanish.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- start using Spanish again to converse with others
- have an idea of what a lower Intermediate Spanish class feels like
- decide whether you want to start studying again and whether this level is right for you

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is suitable if you have studied Spanish for about 3 years recently.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Amaia Ibargüen

Amaia is a Spanish teacher from the Basque country in Spain. She grew up in Mondragón and studied in San Sebastián and Bilbao where she completed a teaching degree at university. She has always been interested in teaching and, as well as her work in adult education, she has experience teaching at universities and companies. Amaia has Qualified Teacher Status in England and has taught Spanish at all levels. She has a keen interest in exploring those areas of the language that her students find difficult. She takes great pleasure in seeing how her students progress in the language, in their motivation and dedication, and in the dialogue that takes place among adults in the context of the classroom.
