What is the course about?

The process involves the construction of your personal story which is then available for your use in a variety of ways. Honouring your own lived experience by framing it within a clear narrative can become much more than a therapeutic sharing but may inspire or educate others. The course will take place in the college.

What will we cover?

How stories work, why they are effective, the many different types of ‘Story’, the principles of ’Structure’, and important aspects of Performance Delivery, which will help you in sharing your own story.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Tell your Story to a supportive group of like-minded people to inspire and inform.

• Use your personal story for your own purposes to reflect on and evaluate how it has impacted your life. By framing your own experience, and exploring ways of sharing it, you can open pathways for future creative development.

• Be aware of the Power of ’Story’, and the potential for using your own story in a number of possible settings. Story has become the new buzzword for many professions.
