What is the course about?
This course will introduce you to the different genres of Brazilian music: from Samba through Bossa Nova, MPB, Rock and Brazilian popular music. You will also gain an insight into Brazil's cultural and geographic diversity.

We will cover Brazilian music genres, its main artists and corresponding geographical and cultural backgrounds.

Understand different musical genres and artists and the historic, geographical and cultural issues surrounding them.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
No formal skills are necessary; the course is suitable for beginners but will also offer insight and challenge for those who understand Portuguese.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught by listening to sample music, lecture and demonstration.
