What is the course about?
Unconscious processing with the aim to better understand the self.
What will we cover?
What is Personal Development?
-Defining self awareness and establishing a group contract / boundaries.
-Exploring aspects of self in connection to some theoretical concepts for example, conditions of worth and the unconscious.
-Reflect on aspects of self and how others impact you within a group.
-Explore how we relate to others and the roles we assign to them unconsciously.
-Application of knowledge of personal development to how you are with others in the world.
-Reflections on processes and endings.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Self-awareness, engaging in a group process and an application of theory to self and others.
By the end of this course you should have an understanding of self, roles and how you relate to others.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Completion of the Introduction to Counselling course.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course will be in-person and will focus on self reflection and engagement with others.
Feedback will come from your tutor and peers within a supportive group setting.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There are no other costs and students may wish to bring a notebook and a pen.
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
Have a good understanding of relational patterns in readiness for Level 3 Certificate in Counselling skills, and also for use in future life skills.
