Throughout the 1920s, Europe struggled with political and economic (re)construction and stabilisation. If some progress was made in part of the continent, wartime promises of a better and democratic Europe were shattered by the Great Depression.

The course examines the main developments in British political history between 1886-1906 from the formation of Lord Russell’s Whig Government to the demise of Balfour’s Conservative Government in 1905.

On this interactive lecture introductory course we will explore the political, social, and cultural development of colonial America in the period 1492-1776.

This course offers a broad survey of Nazi Germany, its leaders and its population, its racial ideology, political ambitions and structures of rule, its opponents and its victims, and its ultimate descent into world war and genocide.

In light of current events, the course will explore of the evolution of the role of Vice President in the US political landscape. We will also look at Vice Presidents over the last two centuries - successful and otherwise.

Although born in Ireland, Bram Stoker came to London to work with the great Actor Manager Henry Irving at the Lyceum Theatre and spent the rest of his life here. While working at the Lyceum he published his most famous and enduring novel “Dracula” in 1897. This virtual tour takes us to the London locations of that novel so we cover a wide range of ground from Hendon to Hampstead and Piccadilly to Pimlico tracing the footsteps of the fictional vampire and his creator. Learn about the places Stoker visited, the people he knew, the library where he researched and the history of the book on stage and screen.
