Testimonials

‘The theatre is a beautiful space in a great location and was perfect for the four very different theatre companies that FeSTeLõn had over from Spain. Our audience, volunteers and the actors loved the front of house space, the auditorium, backstage, and the cafe too. 2017 was FeSTeLõn's first year at John Lyon's Theatre, City Lit and we're sure it won't be its last!’ Marivi Rodriguez-Quinones, Founder and Director of FeSTeLõn, Festival of Spanish Theatre of London

‘It was lovely to organise the event at your college and everything was perfectly arranged – thank you very much!’ Riikka Vihriälä, Projects Manager, Association of Colleges

Sponsor a seat in the John Lyon’s Theatre

During the course of our long history, City Lit has become an integral part of creative industries in London and our influence is felt across the globe, through our teaching and the work of our students. Our Performing and Visual Arts students have graced our screens, appeared on stage and can be heard through the airwaves. Key to their experience has been the John Lyon’s Theatre, a studio theatre at the heart of the college.

Originally built with funds from its name sake, the John Lyon’s Charity, the theatre has undergone a major refit and refurbishment and now provides up-to-date technology, enhancing the audience experience and creating a versatile space that can be used for theatre, dance, music and lectures.

To celebrate the opening of the newly refurbished space, we are pleased to announce our Seat Sponsorship Programme.  By naming a seat in the John Lyon’s Theatre, you will be contributing to the success of City Lit’s students and become an acknowledged supporter of the arts in London along with City Lit Fellows including theatre director Sir Jonathan Miller and actress Gillian Anderson

Sponsoring a seat in the new John Lyon’s Theatre for five years costs £500 and includes your own seat which will carry a plaque with your name or message on it. You will receive exclusive invitations and priority booking to all events held in the John Lyon’s Theatre.
