Learn new drawing and painting skills. Build a portfolio of work. Work on a group project. Show your work in an exhibition. Visit galleries for ideas and inspiration.


What is the course about?

Work with a variety of art materials and techniques to improve your drawing and painting skills. Produce a portfolio of work and participate in our annual art exhibition. There will be an opportunity to explore apps for ipad and smartphone and visits to art galleries and museums.

What will we cover?

Art materials and techniques, including acrylic, pencil, pen, pastel and mixed media.
Drawing and painting apps for ipad and smartphone
Sketching visits to museums and galleries.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Produce a portfolio of drawing and paintings
Use the Internet in class to source images for painting and drawing
Make drawings and paintings based on personal research and interests.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is for students with learning disabilities who have an ability or interest in art.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Group discussion
1-1 tuition
Tutor demonstration of materials and techniques.
