Build a website with Wix

What is the course about?

The course will introduce you to the Wix content management system and will allow to experience its main design and editing tools while applying them to building a website. It will also help you to develop an understanding of how this platform and the website you will build fit within the wider context of web tools.

Be able to set up a Wix website
Use Wix editing tools to add different content types such as text and images

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is suitable for absolute beginners with no previous experience in web design.

You should have good computing skills and experience of using a web browser on a PC or Mac.
Students need to be able to access their email, be confident with accessing pictures and files on their computers and a competent user of both the internet and email. You should also be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information and discuss work with your tutor.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught step by step through using demonstrations and presentations and by completing practical exercises in class using a modern browser such as Google Chrome. It is a one day course so no homework is involved.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no additional costs. You will need an email account that you can access during the lesson to activate your Wix.com account.
