Humanities & languages courses to boost your career

This online course will prepare you for the exam of the 'Diplôme d'études en langue française' (DELF), B2 level, in July 2026. Suitable if you have studied French for about four to five years. Ideal if you would like to live, study or work in France.

Please note that exam fees are not included in the advertised fees. The course can be paid in instalments.

As of January 2026, the French government will require citizenship applicants to have passed a B2 language proficiency examination. French DELF B2 is one of the most officially recognised qualifications.

The Access to Higher Education Diploma for Humanities and Social Science is a qualification for anyone who has left school without GCSEs or A-levels and wishes to study at university. It is a highly intensive, fast-track route to higher education, where you will complete the equivalent of 3 A-Levels in one year, and requires attendance ONLINE via ZOOM two nights per week (on Tuesdays & Thursdays) from 6-9.15pm, as well as online tutorials every two to three weeks and substantial private study. It starts on 15 September 2026. These dates and times are non-negotiable, and you are required to attend every session.

An opportunity to gain an A-level qualification in one year. You will study topics relating to the society, history and culture of contemporary Italy and will develop relevant exam skills. Suitable if you have studied Italian part time for about five years. The course fee includes non-refundable exam costs payable in advance and is payable in instalments. This course is a popular choice for learners who feel they will benefit from the discipline of an exam course, knowing that they have a clear goal in sight at the end of the course.

IMPORTANT:

This course will be delivered online. However, a mock exam will be held in late February or early March at our central London college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend. The exact dates will be posted when the mock exam has been set up.

The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June (exact dates to be confirmed). Please note that the end date of the course may change depending on when the official exams are scheduled.

* Please note that, subject to government guidance, we might need to implement a contingency plan to be followed in the event of exam cancellations.

**City Lit is an adult education college, so we are only able to accept candidates who are aged 19 or over.
