  4. Memories of empire in Europe: A brief Introduction

    In the past few months, public debates about the European imperial past(s) have touched on issues such as, for example, statues, school subjects, reparations, apologies and in many cases also the politics of race. However, these debates also have histories of their own, being connected to the different processes of decolonisation and the ways in which these took place.
