What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Introductory level: you are required to read and write short sentences, follow verbal instructions and extract information from handouts. If you have any medical condition, please check with your GP whether it is suitable for you to undertake a bodywork. If needed alternative practical tasks and adjustments may be made where reasonable.

Oge is a body therapist and Healer. She has been a practising therapist for 16 years, treating clients with various massage therapies including holistic massage, sports and onsite massage, lymphatic drainage, Indian head massage, reflexology, and aromatherapy, in a variety of settings. She is also a Reiki Master, with particular interest in pet healing. Oge is currently tutor coordinator for the Health and Wellbeing department, as well as actively teaching and developing new courses . Her career in health began 20 years ago working within social care, specifically with children and adults with special needs After healing herself from a mystery illness, she understands how the body, mind and spirit truly work in harmony, and is passionate about bringing bodywork back to its healing roots, and improving wellbeing for everyone. Ameena Rahman ITEC Tutor and Complementary Therapist Ameena has been working as a qualified complementary therapist for over a decade. Her community-based therapy practice extends to the heart of communities, including hospices and vulnerable groups. Ameena is passionate about preventative health and plays an active role in promoting screening and facilitating health & well-being workshops in the community. She holds a Diploma in Teaching in Lifelong Learning Sector and teaches accredited and introductory courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage. Ameena has been teaching at City Lit College for several years and thoroughly enjoys it. Her teaching style reflects her personality in creating an open, engaging and reflective learning environment which fosters good working relationships in preparation for working with people in the community. She believes the holistic and person-centred approach is an important foundation for any career within complementary therapies.

Jan has been a practising therapist for over fifteen years, and a tutor for ten years. She practises nutrition, holistic massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, Indian head massage, Thai yoga massage, Japanese facial rejuvenation and pregnancy massage. She currently teaches massage, reflexology, manual lymphatic drainage, facials, stone therapy, nutrition, and anatomy and physiology courses at City Lit and other London colleges. Jan is passionate about health and wellbeing. In her spare time, she enjoys increasing her holistic knowledge, cooking, playing tennis, travelling and theatre.
