What is the course about?

Artificial intelligence is one the hottest topics in technology these days, but few understand the technology behind it. This course will introduce you to the ways in which machines think like humans. You will also develop an understanding of the ethical implications (including why you might lose your job soon).

Participants who will attend the full course will receive a City Lit certificate of attendance electronically for their CV or CPD records. The certificate will show your name, course title and dates of the course you have attended.

What will we cover?

We will cover a brief history of AI, current developments, and challenges ahead. We will also look at various machine learning methods, and you will even get to program your own AI!

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Explain various ways in which machines can learn like humans. You will be able to discuss AI in an informed and educated manner.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is introductory, so no skills needed. All levels welcome.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The session will consist of short, interactive lectures, a programming session, and an informal debate. No work outside class.
