What is the course about?

This course is all about introducing you to the Pandas library, which is one of the essential tools used in Python for managing and manipulating data. Beginners stepping into the arena of data science or anyone interested in analysing data will greatly benefit from learning these techniques. The content touches all key areas, from understanding how to handle Pandas' primary structures - Series and DataFrames, through treating missing or null
values, to combining different datasets. We'll also guide you through conducting basic statistical assessments on your dataset and creating simple visualisations to interpret that data. Developing these foundational skills in pandas will make your progression into more complex data analysis smoother and more intuitive.

What will we cover?

- Pandas fundamentals: Series and DataFrames
- Practical data manipulation techniques
- Merging and concatenating dataframes
- Handling missing/null data
- Creating effective visualisations using your data.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Manipulate and structure large datasets with pandas' core objects.
- Handle series and DataFrame, the core structures in pandas.
- Perform fundamental operations like indexing and slicing.
- Evaluate real-life datasets and draw significant insights.
- Effectively communicate results through compelling visualisations.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Everyone keen on sharpening their analytics toolkit could benefit from the course. While aligned towards beginners-to-intermediate viewers, any level learner interested in implementing Python for powerful data analysis could find value in this instructional journey.

The course is an introductory level, suitable for individuals new to data science, programming, or just starting out with Python's data manipulation library: pandas. As for skills, a basic understanding of Python programming will be very helpful to individual learners. It's ideal for beginners eager to understand and utilise pandas for data handling,
manipulation, and analysis. You should also be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions, information and charts, and discuss work with your tutor in English.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

There will be some theoretical underpinning to the course, but it is nearly all practical, through teacher demonstration and practical programming and problem solving activities. There is no official work set outside the class but it is a good idea to practise the skills you have learnt to reinforce classroom learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no other costs. Pen and notepad for note taking.
