These two longer days are to maximise practical time and for elements of research and informal discussion to be included.

• Develop photo-litho plates
• Learn how to ink up the plates and print

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

All levels are welcome. The course is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced printmakers who want to try out new ideas. You should be able to follow verbal instructions and follow demonstrations.
Basic Photoshop skills and a knowledge of digital photography would be beneficial.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Demonstration will be given to enable you to understand the techniques
And instructions on how to use the equipment
There will be an emphasis on sharing knowledge and experience initially students will be put into pairs to maximise on practical development through discussion. The tutor will facilitate group discussions and work with students one-to-one and in groups
Small preparation tasks for Day 2 are desirable as this will maximise your time.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

You will be provided with paper to print on and some alternative surfaces, however, if you wish to print on additional materials e.g. fabrics, mirrored papers etc. you will be expected to bring your own.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

After this course you may want to consider trying other photographic print processes, or perhaps a more general print course, Your tutor can advise.
