What is the course about?

To enable students to communicate more fully and fluently in a wider range of everyday situations and conversations. The course will also give insight into cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Asking and giving advice, describing how you feel, illness and remedies, describing in the past, comparing past and present, describing experiences in the past, celebrations in Spain and Latin America.
Grammar: uses of ser/estar, imperfect, contrast simple past/imperfect.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Describe how you feel
- Give advice, orders and instructions
- Describing habits and situations in the past
- Tell an anecdote with increased fluency
- Contrast past and present.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is intended for students who have completed stage 2 upper: module 2 or have an equivalent knowledge of the language.

It is also essential that you have some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation. It would be helpful if you had knowledge of more intermediate grammar terminology such as: prepositions, direct and indirect pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Note: you might not cover all the activities in the book during the course.
