Do you lack basic computer skills or already have the skills but want to gain a formal qualification? We offer ECDL (European Computer Driving License) and Digital Skills Awards.

You need to do an assessment before enrolling on these courses. At the present time, assessments will be done by telephone during the time slots shown below:

Please note: All our essential skills courses are FREE if you are in work and earn less than £19,890 a year. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your salary. The majority of English and maths courses are free for everyone while other courses have zero or reduced fees if you are on JSA, ESA (WRAG) or a means-tested benefit.   1. Level 2 certificate in IT user skills (ECDL Extra)

    Do you want to learn the skills you need for office work or everyday life, and gain a qualification? On this course, you will learn the core software applications required in every workplace. The course is made up of four modules: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity using IT. If you pass, you will receive the Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). This course is ideal if you have some working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel, but want to be confident you can use their most essential elements.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed and earn less than £20,962. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. You may also be eligible for this funding in other circumstances. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your gross salary. OR

    b) You are either on Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment & Support Allowance. Please bring proof of income to your assessment or enrolment. OR

    c) You receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit), earn less than £338 a month (individual claims) or £541 a month (household claims) and are doing the course to become employed or move into more sustainable employment.

  2. Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills

    Location on this date: Online
    Are you new or returning to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as pursue your studies to a higher level.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed and earn less than £20,962. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. You may also be eligible for this funding in other circumstances.
