Courses Leading To A Qualification Courses in London

Do you need to develop your digital skills for work and general communication? Would you like to gain a qualification at the same time?

You can join our ECDL courses from beginner level 1 up to advanced level 3 or the new Essential Digital Skills for Work Level 1 qualification. All these courses will help you progress at work. You will learn the most important Microsoft Office programs including how they are used in an administration and work environment. Come and join us and take your employability skills up to the next level.

If you want to do ECDL, or any other course with an exam, you need to do a pre-course assessment. Click on any of the courses below and click on the pink ‘Start Assessment’ button. Alternatively, you can have a face-to-face assessment at the following times:

Our courses are FREE to most learners if you earn less than £20, 962 a year or are unemployed. Some are now taking place in the City Lit building. The majority are live online interactive classes. You will need a computer with a microphone, a camera and the internet. It is best to use Google Chrome.

  1. Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra)

    Do you want to learn the digital skills you need for office work or everyday life, and gain a qualification? On this course, you will learn the core software applications required in every workplace. The course is made up of four modules: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity using IT. If you pass, you will receive the Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). This course is ideal if you have some working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but want to be confident you can use their most essential elements.

  2. Essential digital skills for work (Level 1)
    Course Date:  Wed 22 Sep 2021 (and 4 other dates)

    Are you new to computing? Do you have some digital skills but lack confidence to use them? Would you like to gain the most essential digital skills needed for today's workplace? If you need to develop the foundational digital skills for today's job market, this is the course for you. The course will give you the confidence to use digital devices and tools to collaborate and communicate efficiently with work colleagues, to create documents and presentations, and make simple spreadsheets. You will learn the transferable digital skills you need to progress, participate and express yourself in the workplace. You will also gain a qualification. 53% of UK employees do not have the digital skills needed for work. You don't need to one of them.

  3. Level 3 certificate in IT user skills (ECDL Advanced)

    Course Date:  Sat 2 Oct 2021 (and 1 other date)

    Do you want to know that you can work to an outstanding level in any work environment requiring an expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access? Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment. This course may be free if it is your first L3 qualification. The Advanced Learner Loan is also available.

    If you are eligible for government funding and you are 19 or over and do not already have a full level 3 qualification (equivalent to an advanced technical certificate or diploma, or 2 full A levels) you may be able to study this course for free. For more information click here



    The course fee is £1200. If you are unable to pay this upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the course fee, repayable after the course ends. A deposit of £200 is also payable to secure your place (refundable after you complete the course).     Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) is an important commitment. Prepare yourself on this short course and make sure Level 3 is the right one for you. This course will ensure you make the most of your ECDL Level 3 course and have the skills to achieve the qualification once you start.
