Courses Leading To A Qualification Courses in London

Do you need to develop your digital skills for work and general communication? Would you like to gain a qualification at the same time?

You can join our ECDL courses from beginner level 1 up to advanced level 3 or the new Essential Digital Skills for Work Level 1 qualification. All these courses will help you progress at work. You will learn the most important Microsoft Office programs including how they are used in an administration and work environment. Come and join us and take your employability skills up to the next level.

Our courses are FREE to most learners if you earn less than £20, 962 a year or are unemployed. Some are now taking place in the City Lit building. The majority are live online interactive classes. You will need a computer with a microphone, a camera and the internet. It is best to use Google Chrome.

  1. Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra)

    Do you want to learn the skills you need for office work or everyday life, and gain a qualification? On this course, you will learn the core software applications required in every workplace. The course is made up of four modules: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity using IT. If you pass, you will receive the Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). This course is ideal if you have some working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel, but want to be confident you can use their most essential elements.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed and earn less than £20,962. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. You may also be eligible for this funding in other circumstances. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your gross salary. OR

    b) You are either on Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment & Support Allowance. Please bring proof of income to your assessment or enrolment. OR

    c) You receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit), earn less than £338 a month (individual claims) or £541 a month (household claims) and are doing the course to become employed or move into more sustainable employment.

  2. Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills

    Location on this date: Online
    Are you new or returning to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as pursue your studies to a higher level.

  3. Level 3 certificate in IT user skills (ECDL Advanced)

    Do you want to know that you can work to an outstanding level in any work environment requiring an expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access? Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment.

    The course fee is £1200. If you’re unable to pay this upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the course fee, repayable after the course ends. A deposit of £200 is also payable to secure your place (refundable after you complete the course).
