Paul Farmer joined Age UK as Chief Executive Officer in October 2022, bringing with him a wealth of experience in health, social care, and advocacy. He has long been a supporter of the College and a regular speaker at the Mental Wealth Festival, championing mental health and wellbeing across communities. Prior to Age UK, Paul served as Chief Executive of Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, from 2006 to 2022. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in transforming public attitudes toward mental health and securing significant investment in NHS mental health services. He also chaired the NHS England Independent Oversight & Advisory Group, overseeing delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan for mental health.
