Discuss aspects of Russian literature and other cultural matters and learn some advanced grammar. Suitable if you have completed Russian 3 at City Lit or have actively studied the language for at least 3 years.

Practise and improve your upper intermediate Dutch in this communicative course, with the emphasis on listening and speaking skills. Suitable if you have completed 'Dutch intermediate' or have studied Dutch for about 2 years.

Designed for students who have completed 'English Pronunciation' stages 1 and 2, and those who have near native placement. Conversation and the reading aloud of a variety of texts will help to pinpoint those pronunciation worries still to be addressed when speaking English as a non-native speaker. This course will be taught in the college.

Over two years, the course prepares those wishing to take the 4th grade (final grade) of the Cornish Language Board examinations.

Focusing on George Sand’s Indiana (1832), Balzac’s Père Goriot (1835) and Zola’s Thérèse Raquin (1868), we’ll explore French literary style and the influence of serialisation on sensation fiction and these author’s depictions of social class, romance, and realism.
